Please complete EXAM, Episode 8 and Episode 7 by the end of TUESDAY!October 23rd, 2017
Please make sure that you complete all of the work that was assigned in the last week. I will be back to grade it on Wednesday.

The EXAM! Take it...October 20th, 2017
Please take your exam! It is one of those practice things that I will grade the parts you know and I need an idea of what you don't remember from last year. Each question I am grading says, "I am grading this one" so please make sure you focus on them. Please try your best WITHOUT assistance from your notebook, one another, the internet, etc. I will be nice. You be honest.

Episode 8: Galileo's Pendulum LabOctober 19th, 2017
Please use the materials in class to collect data and complete this investigation. I also included videos of what to do so that you know how to work during class.
Episode 7: Energy Skate Park!Week of October 16th
Please use the Energy Skate Park simulation to complete the investigation below. It will be one of the two large graded assignments before the exam!
If you have a paper copy from class, there are some pieces of incorrect information (sorry! they changed the program on me). Please refer to the following for your mass and height data: 1. Use the following masses: Small = 20 kg, in the middle = 60 kg and big = 100 kg. Please record this. 2. Use the “Grid” to measure different distances you will need to use. Please record the measurements on your track. |
Episode 6: Conservation CalculationsWeek of October 16th
Please ask me which ones to do before you go off on a calculation tangent. Keep in mind that these are hard! If you can do the ones that use the potential and kinetic equations, you are doing great! If you can do the ones that convert from one type of energy to another, you are advanced!

Episode 5: Types of EnergyWeek of October 9th
Use this simulation to define and practice describing the energy transformations.
1. Define the types of energies (in your notebook or on the organizer I provide in class) -- SUMMARIZE, not copy... 2. Use the definitions to determine the energy transformations and record them in your notebooks. 3. Please complete the Journal questions, numbers 1, 2 and 3 in your notebook. 4. When you are finished with the reflection, complete the card sort for potential and kinetic energy! 5. Finally, classify the different types of energies you defined here as either potential or kinetic. |
Episode 3: Put it all together!Week of October 9th
Please classify the different types of energies and explain how they relate to one another. There are two organizers for your notes to help you explain and study. Use them to organize the information on page 70 and explain:
1. The differences between Kinetic and Potential Energy 2. The similarities between Kinetic and Potential Energy 3. The Conservation of Energy |
Episode 2: So many calculations!Week of October 2nd
Please complete the practice problems to show your understanding of the difference between the equations and how they relate.
Episode 1: So many equations!Week of October 2nd
Please read, following the RT strategy, Chapter 3.2, starting on page 65. Please make sure you are completing all of the reading and reflecting with your group as you are taking notes in the organizer. Please be prepared to CLARIFY and SUMMARIZE as a group for each of the following sections:
